The story begins with the wedding of Aditi and Aayush. They have two children, both named Anshuman and Roshni, respectively. But, it is seen that the family members of Aayush are against this decision of his family. Aayush (Shahid Kapoor) is the only son in the family of Pramod Agarwal (Sanjay Mishra); he has three daughters. His eldest daughter, Mansi (Sarika), is married to Dheer (Rishi Kapoor). Mansi and Dheer are staying in Switzerland with their daughter Niyati. They come back to India for their daughter's marriage with an NRI boy but do not stay here for long.
